March 8 - the new DPCM

With regard to the Coronavirus emergency, Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte signed today a new Prime Minister's Decree (Sunday 8 March 2020) (HERE the complete text). In application of the provisions contained in article 2 ("Measures to combat and contain the Covid-19 virus throughout the country") and with regard to municipal structures, museums will be closed to the public from today until 3 April inclusive and the civic library. The mayor of Bra Gianni Fogliato invites citizens to comply with the rules indicated by the government, avoiding gatherings or potentially harmful behavior. “These are the days of responsibility, collaboration and awareness. It is important to scrupulously respect the indications aimed at containing the spread of the virus: I thank the Braidesi, the various city realities, the municipal staff, the civic volunteer work, the bodies and the institutions for the collaboration. My thanks also go to the health personnel for the great and precious daily work done. Our Administration continues to closely monitor the evolution of the situation (editor's note this morning a meeting was held involving Directors and management for the application of the provisions of the new Prime Ministerial Decree), in a continuous discussion with the bodies involved and in the scrupulous application of government directives ". Work is underway - in a fruitful collaboration between the municipal offices, voluntary associations and various city realities, in continuous dialogue with the competent authorities and in compliance with the rules - to implement plans and actions in favor of the weaker segments of the city .

March 2 - stop to educational activities until March 8

The stop to educational activities is extended until 8 March. To decide and communicate it, the President of the Region against the request for caution expressed by doctors and pediatricians and technicians of the Crisis Unit. The extension was decided with an ordinance signed by the President of the Piedmont Region, after hearing the Ministry of Health. The regional ordinance provides for the extension until 8 March including the suspension, already scheduled for 2 and 3 March, of the educational services of children and schools of all levels, as well as the frequency of school and training activities higher, professional courses including curricular internships, masters, university for the elderly, with the exclusion of specialists in the medical and surgical disciplines and distance learning activities. The date of resumption of didactic and educational activities is referred to a subsequent provision.

1 March

The Piedmont Region has issued the decree n. 24, which sorts for days 2 3 and March la suspension of educational services of early childhood and schools of all levels, as well as the attendance of school and higher education activities, professional courses (including traineeships), masters, university for the elderly, with the exception of specialists in medical and surgical disciplines and activities distance learning.

The two days will serve for an extraordinary sanitation intervention for schools, as announced yesterday together with the director of the regional school office. Only on Tuesday, after hearing the technical and scientific opinion of the Higher Institute of Health on the evolution of the infection, the Region will decide whether to reopen Piedmontese schools completely or to extend the suspension of the teaching activity to protect the health of our students.

21.30 pm. Monday meeting with the business world. Monday morning the President of the Region will meet the representatives of the Piedmontese economic world. 18.30. Provisions for religious functions. From today the ordinary functions can take place with the constraint that gatherings are avoided and that quota access is guaranteed such as to determine a distance of at least one meter between the faithful present. This is what was decided by the Ministry of Health in agreement with the President of the Region.

18 hours. Schools reopen. The President of the Region has announced that students from schools of all levels and all levels of Piedmont will return to school next Wednesday, March 4th. On Monday and Tuesday, the buildings will undergo, in agreement with the regional school office, an extraordinary sanitation operation and only school staff will be able to access them. Tomorrow, having read the government decree, the president will prepare the order to modulate the entrance to school.

The Regional Civil Protection will make itself available to schools that will encounter operational difficulties and the Region has allocated funds to facilitate this operation. Two more days of closure for the students will also be used to evaluate the evolution of the infections in the areas of Piedmont bordering the outbreak areas. The lessons and exams in the universities and in the Polytechnic will be regulated according to the provisions decided independently.

25 February

A decree of the Prime Minister (DPCM February 25, 2020) ordered the extension to Sunday evening of the ordinance prohibiting social, sporting, religious and educational events.

February 24 - 22 p.m. - Explanatory circular

The suspended events include fairs, festivals, amusement parks, concerts, sporting events with the presence of the public, theatrical, cinematographic and musical performances, including discos and dance halls. Sports training is allowed excluding the use of changing rooms and showers. Private language centers, music centers with no public flow and driving schools remain open. All economic, agricultural, production, health and socio-health, commercial and service activities, including public businesses, markets, canteens, dormitories of public utility, are also excluded from the suspension. Celebrations of civil and religious weddings and funeral are not considered suspended, on condition that only family members are allowed to participate. For funeral services it is considered advisable to perform outdoor functions

February 24 - 8.30 am

We inform you that, in compliance with the contingent and urgent ordinance n.1 issued yesterday by the Piedmont Region and the Ministry of Health, all public events scheduled in Bra from today - Monday 24 February 2020 - to Saturday 29 February are suspended. The press conference to present the 2020 events scheduled for Thursday 27 February at Palazzo Mathis is also postponed to a later date.


February 23 - 20 hours - Updates - The contingent and urgent order of the Ministry of Health and the Piedmont Region

As already announced on the day, the Ministerial and regional ordinance was published which officially decrees - from tomorrow to Saturday 29 February - the suspension of childcare services and schools of all levels, as well as the frequency of school activities and higher education, professional courses (including placements), masters, university courses of all levels and universities for the elderly. The opening services to the public of museums, libraries and other places of culture are also suspended.

The Administration of Bra, meeting this evening in an extraordinary session of the Executive, continues to monitor the evolution of the situation.

CONTINGABLE AND URGENT ORDER No. 1
1. In order to avoid the spread of COVID-19 in the regional territory, the President of the Piedmont Region adopts extraordinary measures for adequate containment to contrast the evolution of the epidemiological situation.

2. The measures referred to in paragraph 1 are as follows: a) Suspension of events or initiatives of any nature, of events, in public or private places, both in closed places and open to the public, including those of a cultural, recreational or sporting nature and religious; b) Closure of educational services for children and schools of all levels, as well as the attendance of school and higher education activities, professional courses (including traineeships), masters, university courses of all levels and universities for the elderly, with the exclusion of specializing students in medical and surgical disciplines and distance learning activities; c) Suspension of the opening services to the public of museums and other cultural institutes and places referred to in article 101 of the Codes of cultural and landscape heritage pursuant to Legislative Decree 42/2004, as well as the effectiveness of the regulatory provisions on free or free access to these institutes or places; d) Suspension of all educational trips both on national and foreign territory; e) Provision of the obligation by individuals who have entered Piedmont from areas at epidemiological risk as identified by the World Health Organization to communicate this circumstance to the Prevention Department of the Healthcare Authority responsible for the territory for the adoption of the measure fiduciary home residence with surveillance

February 23 - HOURS 18 - Updates

The Municipality of Bra closely follows the developments relating to the spread of Coronavirus in the Piedmont area.

The President of the Piedmont Region, together with the Prefect, the Regional Councilor for Health and Safety, in the afternoon anticipated that, starting tomorrow (Monday 24 February 2020) and for a week, educational activities will be suspended in all schools of all levels in the Piedmont area, including training agencies. February 23 - HOURS 14 - The joint declaration of the mayors of Bra and Alba

"Unfortunately, the first cases of contagion from Coronavirus occurred in Italy too, which after Lombardy and Veneto also reached Piedmont yesterday", declared the first citizens of Alba, Carlo Bo, and of Bra, Giovanni Fogliato.

The two mayors intend to reassure all their fellow citizens that the hospitals of Alba and Bra also strictly adhere to the precise protocols active throughout the region and that health professionals are informed on how to behave to deal with any emergencies that may arise.
