The grand officer Pietro Fraire, former mayor of Bra for two terms between the seventies and eighties and regional councilor, as well as president of the Cassa di Risparmio di Bra, has decided to donate his personal library to the City of Bra, consisting of a precious book collection of 450 volumes of various contents, above all historical, literary and political. The president Biagio Conterno communicated this within the City Council of Bra on Thursday 28 March 2019, on behalf of the group leaders of the city assembly.
"The conference of group leaders, unanimously of those present in the session of last Tuesday 26 March, decided to officially inform the city council and public opinion - explained Conterno - interpreting the sense of gratitude for this gift from of one of our fellow citizens, journalist, writer, teacher, politician but above all a fine intellectual witty witness of the purest and most lucid 'braides'.
In the communication, the group leaders also expressed the recommendation that of this important book collection (fruit, as we read in the note by Fraire, "of love, cultivated for a lifetime, for culture, history and art and, in particular, for our inimitable territory ") can benefit all citizens, arranging an appropriate and worthy location in the" Giovanni Arpino "civic library, even with a plaque that" appreciates and further appreciates the cultural and material value of the important donation " .
