A few days after the opening of the sixth edition of the "Children's Book Salon" by Bra, scheduled in the Piedmont city from 18 to 22 May, the names of the finalists of the "Giovanni Arpino Prize" for children's literature were announced.
To contest the laurel in the category for elementary schools will be "Josny comes from India" by Maria Toffetti (editions Messaggio Padova), "On the traces of Yeti" by Maria Vago (Mondadori) and "The young giant" by Silvia Camodeca Roberta Frattaroli (Castalda).
The technical jury, composed by teachers, educators and journalists, also considered a special mention to Arianna Papini for "Smoke of bombs, rain scent" (Patatrac editions).
In the category of "middle schools" the finalists are "Rosso's Heart" ("Flowers of Field"), Giovanni Del Ponte with "The Invisible and Doom Rock Castle" (Sperling & Kupfer) and Maria Bottiglieri for "Beyond of the sea "(Armando Editori).
Special mention of jury for "Happy Evening" by Irene Carastro Mosino (Jaca Book).
The winning books will be designated by students from the schools participating in the "Salon" and the prize-giving ceremony will take place in the afternoon of Sunday 22 May (17 hours) at the pavilion of the covered Market of XX Settembre square. (Rg)
