We are now in summer, the time of year when the desire to read a good book increases thanks to the arrival of the holidays. Just in anticipation of this moment, the “Giovanni Arpino” Civic Library in Bra has prepared a selection of all the best editorial news that can be found in the children's room. The list of proposals, selected from the approximately 12 volumes available to younger readers, is published on the Municipality's website, in the section dedicated to the Library.

Unfortunately, the anti-Covid rules still make complete public access to the shelves impossible, but reading enthusiasts can still enjoy the many proposals offered by booking the books by phone, on 0172.413049, or by email, by writing to biblioteca@comune.bra.cn.it. After obtaining a confirmation, users can then go to the structure in via Guala to collect the books (obviously equipped with a mask), which will be delivered by the librarians. (Rb)

The rules dictated to fight the pandemic do not stop one of the key events of the Braidese summer, or the open-air cinema review, which will return to brighten the evenings of the inhabitants of the City of Zizzola starting from 13 July 2020.

Of course, the delicate situation requires some changes to the classic program of the event: so, unlike in the past, the auteur cinema review will not cross the different districts of the city but will have a fixed location, the Giardini del Belvedere della Rocca, an enchanting area that it will become the center of summer events. Here, on Monday and Thursday evenings - two appointments a week instead of the single screening of past editions - you can admire some of the most beautiful films of recent months. Places will be limited and for this it is necessary to book in advance by calling 0172-430185.

Each of the participants is asked to donate 3 euros that will go to support the “#IoAiutoBra” campaign, a solidarity fundraiser intended to finance services and aid activities for the Coronavirus emergency.

This is the complete schedule of screenings: Monday 13 July “Pinocchio”, directed by Matteo Garrone with Federico Ielapi, Roberto Benigni, Gigi Proietti, Rocco Papaleo, Massimo Ceccherini; Thursday 16 July “Parasite” directed by Boon Jong-Ho with Song Kang-ho, Lee Sun-kyun, Yeo-jeong Jo, Choi Woo-Sink, Park So-dam, Hyae Jin Chang; Monday 20 July “Il traitore”, directed by Marco Bellocchio with Pierfrancesco Favino, Maria Fernanda Candido, Fabrizio Ferracane, Luigi Lo Cascio, Fausto Russo Alesi; Thursday 23 July “Cena con delitto”, directed by Rian Johnson with Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Shannon; Monday 27 July “Sorry we missed you”, directed by Ken Loach with Kris Hitchen, Debbie Honeywood, Rhys Stone, Katie Proctor, Ross Brewster; Thursday 30 July “La dea fortuna”, directed by Ferzan Ozpetek with Stefano Accorsi, Edoardo Leo, Jasmine Trinca; Monday 3 August “Joker”, directed by Todd Philips with Joaquin Phoenix, Robert De Niro; Thursday 6 August “Once upon a time in… Hollywood”, directed by Quentin Tarantino with Leondardo di Caprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Emile Hirsch; Monday 10 August, “The most beautiful years”, directed by Gabriele Muccino with Pierfrancesco Favino, Micaela Ramazzotti, Kim Rossi Stuart, Claudio Santamaria, Francesco Centorame); Thursday 13 August “Dolittle”, directed by Stephen Gahan with Robert Downey Jr., Rami Malek, Selena Gomez, Marion Cotillard, Emma Thompson; Monday 17 August “The officer and the spy”, directed by Roman Polanski with Jean Dujardin, Louis Garrel, Emmanuelle Seigner.
