Scottish guests in Town Hall in Bra. To get to know the school's food and school education system in the town of Zizzola this morning, Tuesday 19 October 2004, were received by the Municipal Council Norma Murray, director of the Department of Scotland who deals with school meals, hospitals and prisoners nutritionist Wendy Barrie and Pam Rodway, of Moray's Slow Food in the Highlands. The three guests, accompanied by Dr Davide Ghirardi of the Slow Food Taste Education Office, are in Italy to participate in the Turin event "Earth Mother" gathering food communities around the world and visiting a vegetable garden located at the elementary school of Madonna Fiori and, subsequently, the confectionery of the meals of the Municipal School Mensa in via Montegrappa, a service run by the Civic Administration and serving more than two hundred thousand meals annually.
The three guests at the Palazzo Municipali were the Councilor for Education Michelino Davico, who wanted to recall the importance of school tuition in the field of food education activities, as well as to illustrate the system that implies an organization such as which allows you to cook every day for about a thousand times covered, distributed with a capillary logistic system in the various refectors present in town schools.
For the interveners it was possible to meet the Mayor Camillo Scimone and many members of the municipal executive, as well as to deepen the individual aspects of the service management with the officials of the municipal council of braids, ensuring the quality and provenance of the products used in the kitchen.
