From 9 to 30 June 2018, on the noble floor of Palazzo Mathis, the "Amici dei Musei di Bra" Volunteer Cultural Association presents the anthological exhibition of the artist Franco Mazzonis entitled "Luci e colori di Langa". The exhibited works, paintings, drawings and graphics, are altogether more than sixty and offer a wide overview of the artist's rich production. The vernissage is scheduled for Saturday 9 June 2018, at 17. Landscapes and still lifes for traditional painting, airplanes, ships and trains for technical painting are the favorite subjects in oil paintings. The drawings and engravings prefer the common theme of the landscape with panoramic views, castles, towers, churches on the hills of Langa and Roero, famous views of the cities of Turin, Bra, Saluzzo, Cherasco, Narzole and Fossano. Born in Torre Pellice and recently deceased, Franco Mazzonis graduated from the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin with the guidance of the masters Enrico Paolucci and Marcello Boglione. A figurative and landscape painter, he has set up solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad. His works are exhibited in prestigious museums and appear in numerous Italian and foreign collections. Graphic painter and illustrator, he collaborated with the major publishing houses and was one of the most skilled designers of aeronautical, naval and railway subjects. He also dedicated himself to engraving activities in the various techniques of screen printing, lithography, silography and chalcography.
"The exhibition - explain the organizers - wants to be a tribute to an artist who can be considered a bit 'braidese for having stayed several years in the city of Bra, of which he left fascinating and unrepeatable views. The exhibition set up at Palazzo Mathis will remain open to the public, free admission, from Monday to Friday from 9 to 13 and from 14,30 to 18; Saturday and Sunday from 9 to 12,30. (it's at)
